Have tried Smirnoff in various guises and I quite like it in a social, not sitting on a park bench kind of way.
Would like to move onto the next level and try some quality Vodka and would appreciate any recommendations.
Tovaritch!
Grey Goose Vodka?
Amateurs!

Read, comprehend, memorise and taste for yourself. Plenty of water needed tomorrow.
BTW The best vodkas should be drunk from a glass and NEVER be cold, just like whisky. All you need is larger balls.
I quite liked Van Hoo
I recomend you travel to Poland to do some research. Just remember their shots are about a quarter of a pint!

??????? FIFY
belvedere!!
My friend who lived in Russia for a good few years and has a Russian wife says Russian Standard is generally considered the best over there (without spending silly money).
Russian Standard is very nice and reasonably priced in your local ASDA!
Thanks for the recommendations! [slur]I love you[/slur]
I think I heard recently that a cheap vodka from lidl (name bagan with P) beat all the posh stuff in a blind taste test.
Mind you in my vodka days I used to drink stuff that was barely more expensive than petrol so you might not want my advice 🙂
chase is nice. tastes like potatoes.

Rather fond of Absolut myself - in a V.A.T...
Chilled vodka and glass, no ice.
co-op's own brand triple distilled stuff is one of the better vodkas i've tasted recently.
made in the uk as well!
Russian Standard and Belvedere are regarded as good for martinis or neat sipping.
Any old paint stripper is OK for V&T
Smirnoff? 😯
Absolute? 😯
If you like the taste of rubbing alchol then maybe?!!!
For the more refined taste you need either Grey Goose or if you really want to spoil yourself get hold of a bottle of Ciroc.
I'd second trying Zubrowkaor or Wyborowa as easily available from supermarkets. Please don't chill the stuff though.
If it's going in a cocktail (not going to taste it) I'm liking the Smirnoff blue I get duty free for £10 a litre. It's 50% and the extra alcohol is effective on my fiance 🙂
How about some British Vodka?

Belvedere is bloomin awesome, lovely neat straight out the fridge/freezer.
Finlandia bar far the best vodka you can get in the uk , smooth and strong

I would strongly recommend you try some better quality vodka!
I recently tried Finlandia again and it's well ropey, fine with mixers and cocktails.
Luksusowa vodka from Poland is made entirely with potatoes, and so can be enjoyed by those with coeliac, besides being SUPERB.
Don't think even the Finns drink Finalndia.
I seem to recall a bottle of "Korsenkorva" from Helsinki Airport being rather good. Might have to google for it in the UK. If you live in South East London, then the finnish Guild near London Bridge sells it, along with Faser chocolate and other essential, Finnish away from home items.
If it's for cocktails then I can actually recommend the Aldi own brand (the slightly more expensive of the two they do).
Its not quite up to the standards of a sipping vodka like Zubrowka or Wyborowa but its even quite drinkable on its own.
Vodka should be grain, grass or tuber im not sure about these grape / fruit vodkas.
Chase vodka straight out of the freezer is lush. £22 a bottle in booths at the mo.
Zubrowka – Polish bison grass vodka
Oh yeah +1 on that - some polish friends gave my in laws a bottle, really nice actually.
i've recently been into a bottle of valt which descibes itself as single malt vodka. whatever it is it's a nice vodka for whisky drinkers. i'm interested to see how it stacks up against highland parks new make to which i think it'll taste similar.
blackwoods it worth a look and also their gin, which i'm told, if you like that sort of thing, is lovely.
the last (and best) one i tried was pincer which we managed to get through a bottle of no problem. it's a milk thistle and elderflower and is rather lovely even if it does have a bit of an uncertain provenance
Try 42 Below, their Manuka Honey is lovely to drink straight, and the others are pretty hard to beat as well (Feijoa is my personal favourite). Made in New Zealand its getting good recognition internationally ...

i must have duff taste buds, tried loads of vodka in my 30's and i still find finlandia the best, never mind
most of the stuff i buy ends up as lemoncello anyway 😀
Mrs TT likes a good martini made with good vodka. She likes Grey Goose but prefers Ketel One (a Dutch vodka) hands down. It used to be near impossible to get in the UK but Asda stock it now.
cant rember the name , but its got nordick blue berries in it , very nice neat, i drank it out of the freezer, sweet .
If vodka needs to be very cold to be drinkable it means it's of poor quality.
Mention of Vodka always reminds me of this, I don't recall who originally posted it, but I could watch it a hundred times and still be giggling.

Smirnoff Nordic Berries
thanks B.A.Nana, H.C it dosnt have to be cold , it was surgeted to me by some one to try it , i did and i liked it, its personal choice.
I got given a bottle of eristoff once, lovely tasting vodka, and i'm not a big vodka or spirit drinker mind but this stuff was lovely compared to the normal stuff i'd drink.
FAIW Belvedere is one of those vodkas you give as a present but not necessarily drink. There's nowt spectacular about it really. It's boring and hangovers are epic.
A nicer IMVVHO vodka is Debowa. This one comes in a wooden barrel and there are 3l. of it (nearly 6 pints).
