Wife fancies one as we make a lot of curries etc

Had a look at a few on amazon but the reviews are mixed.

Anyone got one they can recommend?

And before anyone says, we have a pestle and mortar.

We used to have a cheap coffee grinder whiich worked but was impossible to clean we used so now we use one of these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hinari-MB280-Genie-Multi-Attachment-Blender/dp/B000GG4MCU

It's actually remarkably capable as a blender and a spice grinder. The reviews on there are a bit mixed but it's done five years thus far and gets used several times a week. We are careful with the motor and the blade connection though.

I'm really struggling with this, shirely cleaning the grinder blades must be a ball ache? (like the a hand held blender, it can't be submerged)

BTW the Aldi one get decent reviews

What about a porlex mini? Ceramic burs and stainless steel so you should be able to rinse it. Obviously wouldn't use it for leafy spices/herbs where you need a blade grinder for that but seeds will be ground better with proper burrs and probably more efficient than a pestle and mortar and better grind than any blade grinder.

My friend's got one of those. Always seems happy using it.

I'm no expert, but I believe that's for herbs rather than spices.
