Currently in Kingston and need a change. Have £2k a month to spend on a 3 bed house. Where to live south west of London? Needs to be commutable to St Pauls (say MAX40miles one way) and needs to have somewhat of a "village" feel. Any ideas because I'm stumped?

Looked at Weybridge but no luck currently

Barnes? Putney? Southfields? Wimbledon Village?

Clubber

To clarify - I want to go a little further out (as I want a garage). Have lived in Earlsfield. Barnes/Putney is nice but way out my price range for 3 beds and a garage.

Bakes - apparently the tower is not an option according to Mrs buzzard

Surbiton, Walton, Esher perhaps. Hampton Village is cool too.

How about Long Ditton or even Dorking.

I always liked Surbiton.
and what about Ashtead - that's got a bit of a villagey feel to it?

Chertsey, East Molesey or Hersham?

I grew up in the area and if I recall they had hidden old village centres to them.
Weybridge is a bit too Chelsea footballer to have any villagey credentials really.

It ain't 40 mins to St Pauls from a lot of these places - I'm near Leatherhead. Esher, Cobham, Horsley are on a decent line into London - better than that which serves Ashtead and Dorking.
