Fancy taking my wife somewhere nice for the weekend, budget about £500 (accomodation, food, spa).
Easiest if this is Lakes, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire ish, but open to good ideas elsewhere too.
San Sebastian. Easyjet from Manc to Bilbao.
Ulverston in the Lakes, good bike shops, and a zoo just down the road.
And there's no Laurel and Hardy museum in San Sebastian!
Crewe Hall?

godawful website BTW
Langdale Spa if youre planning on taking your bike.
Might be able to take bike, if hotel has nice spa for wife to relax in for a couple of hours..
I knew saying Lancashire would be a mistake 🙂
In all seriousness, if you fancy the South lakes then you could do far worse than staying here
And eating either there, or if you want to splash out, next door
We've had a few great weekends there

^^ Derbyshire, 15% off if you book before the end of nov on the offers page.
I'm going there this weekend and really looking forward to it, last time we were there at this time of year we got snowed in (yes, thats the 'cottage') 😀
Cottage looks good, but for another time when we go away with friends I think. Some good suggestions, quite fancy L'Enclume
Carden Park on the Cheshire/Wales border is pretty impressive - near to Chester for things to do.
Also in Cheshire - Rookery Hall nr Nantwich is also lovely

The illuminations are on and everyfink!
Sorry you've missed them but if you book early I'm sure they will squeeze you in for next year.
Liverpool, good hotels, great shopping, great buildings, river cruise, and lots more.
