Rapha Musette is tiny.

'Small Shoulder Bag'?

http://www.rapha.cc/small-shoulder-bag

Is it wrong to hate the two people in the rapha photo?

Are you overcome by an urge to see a grand piano land on their heads? That'll learn 'em to be too cool to wear helmets. Perhaps its because they are helmets. Hmmmmmmmmmm

It's always right to hate people in Rapha photos, and indeed most of their marketing 😉

That said, some of their kit is very good - sample sale FTW

The Chrome Minimalist does look ace, though I like the look of their Classic Messenger.

That musette is about the right size. However I can't see anything in Merak's link, just a load of brightly coloured splodges.

How about this:
http://www.tilley.com/The-Tilley-INTREPID-II-Bag.aspx
[img] [/img]

Inspired by a well worn WWII utility bag, the Tilley INTREPID II Bag is equipped with 5 secured pockets, wide and deep enough to hold a 13" laptop, wallet, keys, glasses and much more. Each bag carries a brass plate with a registration number that can be registered with Tilley. In case the bag is ever lost, we'll try and connect the owner with the finder.

Mol, I know the guy that runs Il Soigneur - he arranges seasonal rides from a coffee shop in Brizzle. He is indeed a top bloke. If you're on twitter, you can also catch him there. He's a one-man band - rather than a faceless company - and his musettes are indeed lovely. I'm pretty sure he has his own website too.

I considered buying a homosatchel once.
A few friends have one but tend to keep them in the closet most of the time.

Dunno about the closet some of those should be way back in Narnia.

Just out of interest, why NOT just carry a small backpack?

Serious question.

Manbags are just wrong - you might as well just pull around one of those small tartan shopping trolleys and have done with self respect altogether 🙂

TBH derekrides, the fact that you have something negative to say about it is validation enough to carry one.

I think it's actually less convenient.

Manbags are just wrong

Good enough for Ford Prefect.

Ford Prefect sported an alien bag, not a man bag!

Most of those abominations posted above would be fine for carrying your gas mask, but not much else.

Not unlike Cougar's in style:

I like that.

Particularly, I like the fact that the strap buckle is on the other end of the strap to mine, meaning that (as a left-hander) it'll be in front of me rather than digging into the small of my back.

Not cheap, though Cougar:
http://www.belstaffjacketsonline.co.uk/belstaff-colonial-collection-medium-man-bag_p74.html
Reduced to £132 from £355.
But it is Belstaff. Would go nicely with my Trialmaster jacket. Hmmm, Chrissy pressy to myself?

I could have some of those bags and people would think it was a hand bag.

You know what they say about men with small bags 😆
