Looking to spend around £40-50 on a double skinned pop up tent. Before I pop (hoho) into Halfords, and pick up this, are there any other recommendations?

I should add, I am open to getting a regular tent, its just for the frequency I actually camp, I figure a popup one would be easiest to use.

Cheers.

Yes, the Quechua ones from Decathlon are fine for short term, occasional shower-type camping. I would get the '3 man' version though.

Oh, and practise folding it away at home until you memorize it, or you will look a right noob at the campsite.

I did have a quick look at the Decathalon ones, would have to get it posted, as do not have one local.

Am I right in thinking the only difference between the 2 seconds easy and the 2 seconds easy + is extra storage space?

...also, just to double check, are these double skinned? The info is a bit vague.

Yep. Inner and fly sheet. If it's dry, you only need four or six pegs too.

Liking the thinking binners.
Another plus for Decathlon, but just be careful packing it away as the poles might snap rendering it less than perfect on a wet evening in France when you really need the bloody thing.

i personally like the vango range pop up tents.

you can get them less than 50 quid now if you shop about.

www.blacks.co.uk/product/096738/VG-DART-DS-300-BLACK-0.html

www.outdoorworld.co.uk/vango-dart-ds-200-pop-up-tent

ive seen them as less than that too, just shop about, the pop 3 has a better waterproof lining which is better imo.

i hate pop up tents, the reason they're easy to put up, is that they're an absolute swine to put away. we got a cheap tent in the millets sale, a eurohike dome tent, about £30 i think, 3 man (easily) piece of piss to put up, packs up small, had it for 4 years and used it loads. last time was in the floods and it was bone dry inside.

Cmon, they are a piece of piss to put away.

Lack of a porch is the main drawback in poor weather, but for one night camping in good weather, best thing since sliced bread.
