Hi, I'm kitting out a small gite in France and am looking at a Mini Oven to stand on the work surface. It only needs a small capacity to cater for two people.

I'm slightly concerned that the external surfaces might get too hot, is that an issue on these or am I worrying about nothing?

They seem to be used quite a lot for gites/caravans/mobilehomes etc so wondered if anyone here had one they would recommend?

I would have thought that all ovens are well insulated otherwise they'd set fire to their housings!
No idea about worktop ones though, sorry. Can you not find room within the units?

"Can you not find room within the units?"

Units? That would be a novel idea for a small gite. Kitchen organisation usually amounts to some repurposed chicken feeders, a few brackets made from salvaged tractor parts and a couple of shelving units better described as well organised woodworm.

Old vintage calor/flavel boat/caravan cooker with grill and  hobs? They’re cute!

Thanks all, but it does have to be a conventional mini oven.

Any Panasonic combination microwave / oven / grill would be ideal. We used ours for two years while renovating our house and we ate takeaway less than 5 times!

+1 combi microwave/oven. Used one regularly as our only oven (and only microwave) for well over a decade, before it eventually died. Much more flexible and effective than either one on its own.
