I finally finished the last of the 150+ books on my kindle today (some old some new). I need some recommendations; I like a bit of everything really. Fiction, non-fiction, highbrow, throwaway pulp novels.

What's been floating your literary boat and is it worth the time investment?

Try INTO THE SILENCE by Wade Davis ....
Fascinating insight into the earlier Everest exeditions, not only their quest for the mountain but why - after fighting in the great war they were the people they were. Basically after seeing death and destruction on an industrial scale nothing fazed them.
A mighty tome but WOW - chapeau to the lot of `em .

Ooh. Good start. I read a few Everest books ages back which were quite inspiring in terms of getting me out of a sedentary lifestyle.

Try "Survival of the Fittest" by Mike Stroud. Bloody fantastic, and it genuinely convinced me to get out into the great outdoors more. I've since taken up running, which i never thought i'd do.

If you have even a passing interest in film then I highly recommend Easy Riders, Raging Bulls by Peter Biskind.
