hi all,
just called at my local bike shop for a few jobs doing on my bike and saw that they are raffleing off an evil calling bike! Tickets are £35 and I think the bike is a £3500/4000 bike! So I bought a ticket to help support the shop!!
the bike shop is Bikeanics in greenfield and they are drawing the raffle on 30th April I have seen they are advertising the bike with photos and full spec etc etc on pinkbike but thought I'd try to drum up a few more ticket sales by posting an ad on here!
for more Details you can check the pinkbike listing or call the shop on 01457 879029 and speak to jake
i thought it was definatly worth a ticket! (Much more bike than I'll ever need!) but to win it you got to be in it
I think the bloke from South Coast Suspension makes more money on his raffles than he does on shock servicing now 😉
He did fall foul of gaming laws by not registering it as a raffle with the LA/not having a 'question' instead as someone reported him.
Hello classifieds only user. Interesting first post on the other forum.
Stew is a good guy, don't fall into being the judgemental bawbag trap, Matt. 😉
Hi nobeerinthefridge!
Greg Shame I won't get to see you at the ard rock buddy! Think you are the guy I got my capra off!! Sold that now and riding a whyte t130rs
I have been a classified only user as I like to fly under the radar and not get involved in any drama! I am mearly posting this raffle to support my local bike shop that's as far it goes!
its totally up to you if you buy a ticket or not! I have and hopefully more people do and someone will be getting a bloody nice looking bike with good kit for £35!! No brainer to me!

If he wears a hat, it doesn't mean he's a pie. 😉

To be fair, it also means a lot of people lose £35.
We'll have people recommending BOTB car raffles next...
Ok, I will wind my neck in... 😜
Apology for casting aspersions around.
To all messageing!
so trying to help out a local bike shop that I use makes this me reccommending you buy a ticket!!
I'm sure you can make your own mind up if you want to buy one or not!
I have just called the bike shop there selling 100 tickets that's all so it's a 1 in 100 chance to win not like the millions at the airport!
Now I know why I'm a classified only!! That's the way it will stay again now!
Good luck with whatever your all currently doing in life but really put the pitch forks away and maybe keep the sarky comments away and the forum you all use may actually grow! Maybe like all you lot need to do I was genuinely trying to drum up support for a little bike shop in greenfield! Burn me at the stake for it
cheers for all the comments and hopefully see you on the trails! Happy riding

Catch 22, not participating makes it look like you are dropping in with a stealth ad or plug. Come join in lots to chat about and then we will still say the same things about 1 in 100 raffles 😉 If you can afford to give £35 to somebody you have a chance.
Stew I spoke with the owner who is selling the bike, it is no longer limited to a 100 tickets btw.
Surprises me if you can sell £35 tickets on the premise that there will only be 100 sold, then increase the number at a later date.
Tuskaloosa,
totally wrong information your saying matey! Just spoken to jake the guy running the raffle he said you spoke with him yesterday and was entering the raffle! But have not sent payment yet! The bike was previously up for sale but is to be raffled as outlined below pal!
100 tickets available
£35 per ticket
draw 30th April
that can be clarified as I have just done so myself and having only bought my own ticket 2 hours ago seems like someone is trying to throw a curve ball!!
it is no longer limited to a 100 tickets btw
hmmm that doesn't sound right.
one thing having a raffle to help a charity etc but just so a shop can shift a bike that's not selling at a profit is another.
But have not sent payment yet!
That's cos I'm still trying to decide if I want to participate in it...hadn't realized I was beholden to it!
Tuskaloosa,
your not beholden to anything at all but your message seems like your trying to put a downer on the thing especially when your saying things that are incorrect!
It is limited to 100 entries
draw on the 30th April,
i wish i hadn't tried to help out and get the remaining tickets sold now!
I only went in for some more frame protection tape!
if anyone wants to enter that's totally there choice. I personally have and think that it's about my only opportunity for me to potentially ever own a top end bike hence why I bought a ticket!! I couldn't afford to buy a bike like this and thought I'd keep the old tyre on for another month and put the money towards a ticket!
happy biking everyone
Isnt this just called crowdfunding
Just for clarity.. Is this a raffle to benefit a good cause? Or is it a raffle to line the pockets of a bike shop trying to shift stock they are lumbered with.
If the former.. Good on them
If its the latter then this is no more than an advert for a bike shop and sould be deleted by the mods.
Well if I’d entered whatever this is, I certainly wouldn’t be advertising it to others, thus reducing my chances of winning.
Will the bike come with tyres suitable for riding on AstroTurf?

because he’ll obviously still honour the raffle if only 10 people buy a ticket.
