Amazon Prime
First episode was superb.
Forgot about this.👍
Binge watching it and up to episode three. Really enjoying it
^^Where are you getting the other eps from?
The books are ok. Easy reading if nowt else.
All episodes are on Prime
It’s a series, looks like it’s a book per series
What really. Bloody hell that's s lot of episodes.
Serious moral dilemma. Love reacher, hate Amazon

I'm an idiot, could have sworn there was only one episode available.
Read lot of the books and i think the seties is rather fine myself 👌
2 episodes in and it's bloody brilliant so far. Captured the Reacher I imagined from the books really well.
Same here - 2 episodes in and glued to it!
Only on ep 2, but he's a way better Teacher than Cruise.
Yep I likey.

Are you discussing the book version?
It is far better than the movies. A little bit overly ultra-violent.
The actor they chose..... well....... when he comes out with smart stuff I just can't associate his mannerisms and voice with the actual statements.
It's good, trashy fun though.

Yup exactly this.
I've not read the books but I enjoy a trashy action/crime type series. This is just ok IMO. Will probs watch the rest.
It's no Burn Notice 😛
I haven't read the books but I watched the first movie and this makes more sense to me. It's entertaining if you don't think about how preposterous the entire thing is.
Watched 6 episodes last with my wife and we loved it for what it is 😁
I'm a fan of the books too,a guilty pleasure.

Same here, not the sort of book I’d read but I picked up a copy at the in-laws & got hooked.
At the time I was travelling to LA a lot - they were a good way of passing time in airports & on flights.
Enjoying the series. The new guy’s no Tom Cruise acting-wise but he does his thing well!
Makes me laugh though, everyone’s gushing how perfect the guy is for the role - he’s hardly the Mountain! What is he, 6’2”? Thought Reacher was supposed to be a giant? They’re using exactly the same tricks here they did in the Cruise movies, with the camera angles & tiny co-stars 😂
Binged 5 episodes this afternoon/evening, we're lovin it!
Finished it already. When will we know if there’s to be a second season?
He looks about 6'2" wide let alone tall. Must eat less protein...
The books are a bit of a guilty pleasure, not high art but easy to consume without too much indigestion. Not everything has to be Ulysses...
The new fella's acting is a bit wooden but then the presentation feels a bit 1970's TV movie to me. Happy to watch it, it's obviously much better than 'z listers eat insects on ice' or some such...
On the Bosch front, there's a new, Baller & Bosch book out which, so far, is pretty good.
I think it’s pretty good. It’s never going to be quite how you imagine it from the books yourself, but it’s striking the right tone. I didn’t mind the Tom C one to be honest, but this is better. Seems more suited to a series than the one off movie style. Agree that the books are easy reading and very moreish.
Enjoyed first three last night.
It’s a bit A-Team isn’t it.
I mean the books are too but the series seemed more so.
Captures Reacher quite well, bit wooden.
the presentation feels a bit 1970’s TV movie to me.
There's something slightly comforting about that though. Bit embarrassed to say but I'm really enjoying shows that have a bit of that Diagnosis Murder or Quincy type vibe but a bit more modern.
Burn Notice and White Collar also have a bit of that about them.
Amusingly, the actor is apparently 6'2" per imdb.
On wiki his height is down as 6'5".
Some cunning editing going on there.
For those that say the new version of Reacher is wooden, isn't that a fair representation of the character?

Maybe. When I'm reading it, I get the feeling he's quite 'transactional' or focused if you prefer rather than wooden. If the actor/director is trying to present as wooden, they're doing a brilliant job.
Watched the first three episodes last night and though it was excellent. I’ve read most of the books, find them very easy reading and good entertainment. From the episodes so far they seem to have captured Reachers character very well, and the nature of the book it’s based on (Killing Floor).
Like!
Its alright, some of the deductions to move the story on are total hokum, but the actrion scenes are excellent. The guy playing Reacher will always be Thad from Blue Mountain State to me though.

I would say so, yes, although I'd describe him as taciturn rather than wooden.
Enjoyed that, pretty fair adaptation of the books, like Bosch was. Would watch another series

People who think that's 'wooden' need to watch Virgin River for research purposes, the guy who plays 'Jack' on that makes a statue look animated. He has maybe one and a half facial expressions and a single tone of voice. The Reacher fella is Olivier in comparison.
Just finished it, it's enjoyable and it worked well with the way things were after the movie series with Tom Cruise, i get the comparisons with Bosch, wish they'd do more of that, there was rumours of moving to the private eye books, at least Amazon are doing some decent stuff to take over from Bosch, Expanse, etc.
I have the same feeling about Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Robert Carlyle in Trainspotting. They are both excellent actors but the characters in the books were much bigger guys and I found it distracting seeing little guys in those roles.
Been some time since I read either of those books (need to revisit both) but never felt that either character was big in a Reacher type of way. Hard yes (and a psycho in the case of Begbie) but not necessarily large per se. Having grown up with someone on whom Begbie could easily have been modelled (albeit London not Leith) I can confirm that often the real nutters aren't the biggest of guys.
Agree with a lot of the comments re size being right, but not grizzled enough, looks too preppy. Also the fight scenes seemed a bit formulaic in the trailer..
Never read the books but did enjoy the Movie. I can see why Tom Thumb wasn't the best choice seeing the size of this guy. 🙂
Good to see Will Robinson back from space
Hard yes (and a psycho in the case of Begbie) but not necessarily large per se.
In the book, Begbie was a big guy, covered in tattoos and scars, and totally psycho.
The dear wife and I have just watched and enjoyed episode 1.
Looking forward to seeing the rest.
Enjoyed it but it all got a bit silly towards the end. Especially when he appeared to have superhuman strength.
I can confirm that often the real nutters aren’t the biggest of guys.
Far from it I agree. Begbie worked as he was borderline psycho, Carlisle played him very well.
Watched it, I’ve seen the films and haven’t read the books. I just don’t get the fuss on here and in the series about his size, nor why they make a thing of him getting clothes. I couldn’t give a stuff how tall he is

That's because you've not read the books. A lot of stuff is explained in the books that you don't get from the film's or this series.
Just watched the last one. Utter bollocks.
