am thinking about getting one on contract £17.00 month http://www.phones4u.co.uk/apple/iphone/4s/8gb-white
my worry is though,can i use it with my wifi at home to surf the web (without being charged for it).
also if i want to download apps for it,can i do it via my pc to the phone (thus not getting billed for it)?

p.s can i buy apple credit vouchers in a supermarket?
It has wifi so if you log in then it works just like your computer. If it can't see a wifi network then it will fall back to 3G which you will pay for. You can download aps over wifi as well.

Yes to both, you can install apps via PC (iTunes) or over wifi.
