I'm moving to Todmorden this summer, and I'm also due a new mobile phone. I know mobile coverage is patchy in some places up there so are there any networks I should avoid? I'm currently with O2 and would like to avoid the hassle of moving but I obviously don't want to commit to another contract if I can't get any reception. I've looked at the coverage maps and they all claim to cover most areas around there so any local knowledge or experience would be useful.

Cheers,

Daz.

Don't know about O2 but I'm ok on T-Mobile in Tod if you do need to change.

Hebden Bridge is where all signal goes to die.

Work in Calderdale and ride a fair bit all over Calderdale/Kirklees and O2 is the devils ball bag.

Changed to T-Mobile last year and get great coverage and have never been happier*

*this can't be attributed to my phone signal

O2 is terrible.
Orange worked much better.

Orange. Only in the deepest building hewn into the hills is where no signal will be found, think this will be case with anything.

Dont know at the moment but lots of mates came off Vodaphone as it was terrible.

I lived in the hills above Tod until 18 months ago and O2 was zero (even though we were close to a mobile mast) while Vodafone and Orange were good. YMMV.
