Mrs S is running the Telford 10k tomorrow so we'll come back via Much Wenlock and Church Stretton.

Can anyone recommend decent pub for Sunday Lunch (child friendly)? Proper real ale a must.

Cheers

Its been a few years since I lived there, and I know the old landlord has passed away, but the new inn at hookagate (south west-ish from shrewsbury on way to church streeton)... Used to be really good food and good beer too (tim taylor landlord as regular guest ale).. But like I said, new owner and I know nothing about that now...

Not sure about Much Wenlock, but a couple of nice pubs in Church Stretton town centre and the Ragleth is nice in Little Stretton (take your bike too!)

The Three Tuns in Bishops Castle v.good, get her to drive back would be my advice so you can have a couple of beers.

Ragleth in Little Stretton is nice but never eaten there.

I like the Crown in Wentnor.

Sorry - Dr_Upgrade this is a bit of a strange question but I knew the landlord quite well a few years back and his name was Rod (presumably short for Roderick). The landlord you said had passed away - do you happen to know what his name was? Thanks

My mother was at Wenlock Edge the other week and the pub there apparently does some of the best sandwiches she'd ever tasted (they were pricey mind). All home made organic bread.

Or if it's real ale you're after this place was always famous for it when I lived there.clicky
