I'm going to be in Liverpool Thursday night with some friends and we need somewhere for good decent pub grub. Nothing fancy and plenty to eat.
Wetherspoons gets a bit of a bad review so any other ideas.
Staying close to James St station.

Definately not the Weatherspoons there - went for the Grand National a couple of years back. As we're sitting eating out meal, there were drips falling from the celing next to my mate - it was the Gents upstairs leaking (floor covered in piss) and seeping through. Very Grim.

Limited menu, but what's on it is great and it's the best boozer in Liverpool city centre - The Lion on Moorfields/Tithebarn Street.

Theres a small pub head out of moorfields station and turn left opposite the old exchange station and its on the left, remember it was good food when at the local uni a few years ago, and its about 4 mins walk from james street
