Sometimes it's good to be confused by something. Especially when it looks so good. The blue in the scenes when Angela was a child - Stunning.

I’m really enjoying it, sucks there’s only a couple of episodes left though (and may not be a second series)

I think they are nailing it so far, I would be quite happy if they bring the story to a proper conclusion in the final episode then walk away, instead of diluting what has been so far excellent by a multi series money grab. Sometimes the story should just be told as planned and then left alone to stand as original art.

There was a clue apparently to Dr Manhattan's identity earlier in the series if you take an interest in the shows sex toys.

As usual the reddit board has more theories you can shake a stick at.

What? Do you mean dr Manhattens's ex, who is still obsessed with him, and has a big blue dildo. If that is meant to be a hidden clue, then you are spending too much time looking for clues and not concentrating enough on the basic characterisations. The episode was titled "she was killed by space junk" which was as much a reference to the dr's dangly parts as it was to cars falling from the sky.

Aforementioned blue device was named Excaliber.

Laurie's ex, that thar Dr Manhattan, has been hiding as a human named Cal. As in Angela Abar's husband. Cal Abar. Ex Cal Abar.

Do keep up.

oh god, I really hope thats not the case, that would be taking the storytelling into nonsensical territory. So far despite how weird it all is, everyone's characters and motivations have been quite credible and believable, that would be a asking for a leap of belief too far IMO.

Do keep up.

I am an episode or 2 behind to be honest.

Going a bit off topic for a while, how many realised that the Tulsa massacre in the first episode was based on true events.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsa_race_riot

It had kind of bugged me for a while, I thought I had heard the story before, so googled it, didn't realise what a horrible event it actually was, almost overlooked by history.

I'm enjoying the show, but it's full of very weird **** and the identity of Dr. M. is the last thing I have a problem believing.

I only managed to watch last week's episode last night due to being on holiday, it's great only having to wait 24 hours for a new one. My money is on The Kavalry pulling off their plan and humanity needing Veidt to save the day. I haven't been this into a series since The Leftovers, which everyone should watch if they haven't.

I've only watched Ep1 but have the rest waiting for me. Really looking forward to it all.

Building to a great climax, and the callbacks to the source material continue without impinging or detracting from the story. Love Jeremy Irons’ demented cackling in the post credits scene; until this episode he’d been somewhat ‘phoning it in.

Yes. That is one of the best episodes of anything I've ever watched. Sheer brilliance

Yep, setting up for a great finale. I guess Dr. M. set up all the dominoes and next week we'll see them all fall into place, Veidt being one of the key dominoes.

More mentions of elephants in the room, I wonder if they'll milk a second series or if they'll just keep it as a standalone thing.

I was wondering why the imdb ratings were so low, it's crept up from 6.7 to 7.5 but it turns out there has been a campaign by far right racists to bomb it with 1 star reviews, if you look at the episode ratings it would be over 9.

really? Can't leave that as standalone - didn't even attempt to wrap up the storylines.

They think they can make a difference by making people think a TV show is rubbish? And we're not allowed to say people are thick anymore.

Bloody brilliant.  Just keeps you off balance all the time.   I love the whole doomed omnipotence thing.  A bit like Paul Atreides in Dune.

Mrs M was not impressed when I suggested that DM would be even more of a pain to live with than me😂

I just watched it on my phone (bit of a slow day). I have enjoyed the series very much even without any investment in the previous incarnations of the story.

Looking forward to rewatching in glorious 720p later (nowtv subscriber).

Thouroughly enjoyed that, love the ending leaving it open - I knew wouldn't see either way, but god damn!!!

Love that Ozymandias was just chilling in Tru's place for, well, god knows how long. Awesome little twists and turns 😀

Yeah, way back in Ep4.

There's a line there (just found the scene), lady trieu says 'So much of my sucess grew from the... seed of his inspiration.'

God damn.

Enjoyed that. Closed the season nicely, but lots of scope to continue. Obviously, whether or not the egg did the trick, but also, with cloning and memory pills, being dead might not be permanent, so a rematch in season 2 is possible. Yes, I was wondering how long Ozymandias had been waiting there, no wonder he was a bit pissed off.

Read a piece mentioning that the final scene with Angela's foot about to touch the water harks to the final panel in the graphic novel where the journalist is reaching for Rorschach's journal.

That was great.

So, does Ozymandis now habe all of Trieu's stuff and things?

My guess is that season 2 will have Trieu's mum clone her and use memory pills to bring her back, then it will be full-on Ozymandis vs Trieu.

There are no plans for a second season - it was always designed as a one-off.

Glad I recorded the series, gives me plenty of time to enjoy it all over again.

If there’s no S2, then that’s fine. S1 was brilliant.

S1 was well received. If HBO think there's money in a second season, they'll make it.
