Might give that a go - never managed to perfect my chinese cooking - could be the catalyst.

Seemed genuinely excited by nightsoil and a container port.

Sunnies in the dark too.
I'm better kitted out on an hours night ride on my local trails.
I don't have a couple of land cruisers following me though.

He's mentioned the seat angle before. He knows it's 'wrong' but just finds it comfy.

And yeah, nails.

The seat angle will most likely be to accommodate his huge nuts. As said, nails. Very impressive.

Riding across a desert on a pub bike (albeit a lovely Rourke frame) eating snickers for fuel and wearing someone else's trousers. ****ing hero.

It had no different hand positions or gears and his seat was massively tilted forward

If it works for him, it's not shit, it's not crazy, and not bizarre, it's functional. That's all you need in a bike.

That was a tough gear to push for 28 hours.

I wonder if he'll be on a singlespeed in the 'Puffer in January.

Guy, who finished runner up at the Strathpuffer being critiqued by a bunch of overweight weekend warriors 😆

Function over fashion, that's what I like to see 8)

I reckon the people knocking his bike choice all own 5 grand plastic racers, the full team sky kit and probably ride 10 miles a week 😆

Was a great mini-series, much better than the most recent Speed (except the Transit & Bonneville episodes!)

Not to mention completion of the TDR in a decent time this year.

He didn't need preparation, he's a proper endurance rider.

And having been passed by him several times in the 'Puffer, I can add he's a clean racer.

TBH if you've spent that much time on motorbikes, your body is brutalised beyond the point where a mere pushbike can hurt it. It's 5 years since I rode a motorbike and I've still got a cast iron arse and tendons like straightened coathangers.

Great series with a challenge at the end played out as fairly low key - an amazing finish. Much prefer his rambling style than those b-listers on a free holiday for a TV series.
