Jumped the queue somehow:
We have received similar reports from other members and this was escalated to our promotions team. To make this right for the members who are affected by the issue, we will offer to reimburse to your PayPal account directly with the discount amount for the completed transactions.
It was a single use per paypal account though.
why would people carry on, thinking they were still getting 20% off.
I don't think the warning was displayed on the (Android) app.. I certainly didn't see it!
Tracey - what number did you use please? Damned if I can find the right number.
There were three options email, phone call and live chat. Live chat was 560 and 97 mins so clicked on them to call me and it took 2 mins to call me and 30 secs to get to the right person.
that's a lesson learnt then...
i dont think I'll risk the refund being honoured.
balls.
poo, so hotukdeals ruined it for those of us that did actually get the email?
im waiting for a callback, 28 minutes time.
I had the code legitimately. ebay help just confirmed;
"
We are aware that there was an issue with the voucher that prevented it from being applied and we are currently investigating this. We will be looking into a way to ensure that members like you still get the benefit from the voucher.
For the meantime, you can make payment in full and we will reimburse your PayPal account with the discount amount for the completed transactions. Please note that it will take up to 14 days to see this reimbursement in your PayPal account."
You just have to open a dialogue with them, detailing the items you purchased and a few other details.
I suspect if you werent on the list to get the code originally, you're at the mercy of ebay. better hope their PR face wins over their accountants.
poo, so hotukdeals ruined it
Not unusual
i had the email and was going to buy something tonight. so, to risk it or not?
theyve just told me to proceed as normal, and they will call be back tomorrow (my choice of time) and process the 20% refund.
It needs to go through as one transaction though, so add the various bits to your basket and then pay for them in one go.
risk it or not?
general consensus from the hotukdeals thread is if you received the email with the code you can get the money refunded, if not then best of luck to you.
Who actually got an email here? All my eBay stuff goes to a folder in god knows what account
If they've emailed you/or chat dialogue and agreed I think you'll get the money too.
yep I got the email
I can't think of anything I want 🙁 😳
Well, I got the refund as well. Finally got a call back and they documented everything for a purchase made earlier. I got the official voucher email but they didn't ask about that. All handled pretty well with politeness and apology etc.
just worked for me 🙂
She's back
Wonder if you can get 20% off this one

"There is no balance left on this redemption code"
I just went to use it - worked fine on the ebay page but on paypal it gives an error code (regarding the discount code) and goes to charge me the full amount 🙁
Same error as earlier. Looks like it has broken again.
Excellent PSA, good work chap.
Voucher correctly applies the 20% discount when buying via Purchase History, but I'd like to buy some more Buy It Now stuff through my basket and take a advantage of more savings ... but I don't see a voucher entry box in My Basket. Is there one somewhere?
Cheers
EDIT: yes, just click Proceed to Checkout ...
However, the voucher now displays "There is no balance left on this redemption code" and it seems to be disconnecting my PP account. Lots of reports on this already. Hoping eBay will honour the 20% off post-purchase.
Many thanks op. Had trouble earlier but it just worked there so treated myself to some new merrells, just need to hide them from the wife until payday.
Hit checkout?
I bought £250 worth of iphone screens. I need to get out more.
Their live chat currently has a 21 min wait. FFS.
EDIT: 2 mins have passed and the wait is now 23 mins. Ggghrhrhhh.
"There is no balance left on this redemption code"
Just got this too, If I proceed with the purchase will I get the 20% refunded later on?
£26 off some shimano MT91 goretex hiking/biking boots £104 🙂
"There is no balance left on this redemption code"
Just got this too, If I proceed with the purchase will I get the 20% refunded later on?
Rumour has it that you will, but you have to contact ebay.
My dropper is being posted, glad I didn't hesitate too long!
To those seeing the "... no balance ..." error, have you already entered the code earlier in the day but chosen not to proceed with the order? Just wondering if there's a bug "processing" the voucher even when not continuing with the purchase, hence "no balance remaining".
but you have to contact ebay.
Not gonna happen now though, as their tel cuts off at 10pm and the live chat is actually adding minutes to wait.
Notice on their website says the offer is now suspended and cannot be used.
