The PS3 comes with a built in harddrive, mainly for gaming and music etc, but can you record tv onto it in the same way that you would with a Sky HD box?

I believe this is a yes, and I've been looking into it myself, but I'm not sure yet either.

You'd need to drill a lot of holes in it to start with, which might mean you can't play games on it afterwards. Some kind of reed would probably be necessary too.

A mate has PlayTV and likes it. There's a demo to download from the playstation store so you can have a play with the interface and sample recorded programs before you buy.

The PS3 "Play" freeview quality is not as good as Skys standard quality.

It has improved and is watchable, but not as good.
