Actually why not offer to contribute to the cost? Yes, you shouldn't really need to but that way you don't have to deal with the tree and you keep your neighbours happy which as we've seen from previous threads is worth it.
Edit: having just seen oldgits new post I might be a bit unhappy as well

How well do you get on with your neighbour? If you get on well, it's not worth falling out over such a small problem, trim the tree together and move the dish so no problem in future.
If you don't, leave it and have a chuckle when he has a pull.
