So, my two year old dropped my normal glasses on the drive today and scratched the lenses. It is probably 3 years since I had an eye test and as such I expect my prescription has changed. I have done Oakley's with prescription lenses. If my prescription has changed I will need to sell my arm to buy new lenses.

Does anyone have any experience buying prescription lenses for Oakley's online? Or can you recommend an optician who would cover these off?

I've used rxsport.co.uk. No problems at all.

Usually you can get new lenses with your new prescription as they can use the old lenses as a template.

I had a problem once when my glasses got smashed at a concert so there was no lens to get the pattern.

Thankfully I still had the plastic blanks in the glasses case so sent them and got the glasses repaired

Rx don't seem to cover my frames but I suppose they might have things other than as listed.

I got lenses for my old (now superseded) Oakley frames. Just drop them an email to ask.

Anyone have any experience of using cheaper or other lens providers other than Oakley. If I could find someone who did cheap prescription lenses I might get a pair for another old set of Oakley's I have lying around

Ive had genuine Oakley true digital transition lenses and normal transition lenses in Oakley frames before

Personally i didn't see any real differences between the two so no longer bother with Genuine Oakley Lenses

There are a few companies out there that do lenses only for Oakley frames, cant remember them off the top of my head but a quick google search should find them

You can prescription glaze most things some people wont do certain frames as the lens outcome is not great if its a large lens with a high base curve. if you can tell me what model oakley and your RX I can give you more of an idea if its worth it

Vision express seem to do a decent job of lens creation...

Depends a bit on the frames.

I have used Cillary Blue for reglazing normal glasses that just happen to be Oakley and they appear to have done a good job.

I believe more wrapped frames are possible too but I have read they are bit more fishbowly than Oakley official lenses.

New riding glasses for me soon and they'll be Oakley with either Oakley lenses or Extreme Eyewear true digital lenses.
