Right then, if I've already got a set of powerline adapters for the TalkTalk box, do I need another one for a new smart tv going in the bedroom. If so, does it need to be the same as the pair I've got, or are they generally compatible with each other?

Some will be compatible but you will save a lot potential hassle by buying the same one.

I've done a similar thing but kept to the same brand and model to make sure it worked. Made it all simple.
