Cut a long story short, I had COVID in August and got away pretty lightly. A week or so later I had a pretty heavy bout of vertigo and nausea and my doctor called it vestibular neuritis.ย  Anyway, while the sickness and vertigo subsided fairly quickly, I'm still left with dizzy spells - almost always bought on by rapid head movements (running, going up and down stairs, etc).

Now unfortunately riding my mountain bike requires rapid head movements and while I've been persisting as best as possible on my weekly night rides but it's got to a point where I can't, in good conscience, carry on riding. I'm crashing going up, going down, crashing on trails I know and trails I don't, going both fast and slow - purely because as soon as I hit a few bumps I lose all ability to focus on anything so almost immediately lose control of the bike. I had a fairly nasty spill last week and it really knocked my confidence.

While I fully accept that I'm not exactly helping myself by riding a rigid bike without a dropper on pretty techy terrain, I'm thinking a break from the bike is required before I do some proper damage.

Anyone had a similar post-COVID experiences, and/or got any tips to help get my balance back where it needs to be? I'm thinking a good amount of yoga could well help, but would welcome any other suggestions!
