only remember coming across her once before on some radio programme where she was doing a full-on hardcore impression of being a militant feminist.

Maybe that's simply how you perceived her, rather than how she actually is.

For some reason Tim Minchin's 'pope song' is rattling through my head.

Not recommended if there are kids about.

Apparently there's no disputes allowed if you tick the "god's gift" box.

are people who have free thinking minds and emotions, and not brainwashed from an early age, actually intrested in which pensioner gets to tell a load of guillable people [a lot of important stuff]

Yes...for that very reason. Maybe you should think more about it!

My couldntgiveaflying****ometer has just registered no interest in the leader of a silly club resigning

Yes, this has absolutely no relevance for non-Catholics at all. 🙄

Easy tiger, I detect sarcasm! I didn't say it was relevant, I just said that I don't care that he has resigned. I'm not daft, I do understand that the church has relevance outside of the church (unfortunately)

She's just bitter because she's just a glorified rib.

It's been a good thread for jokes but this one wins it.

for all that most people care.

Aren't something like 1 in every 5 people on earth Catholic ?

([edit] nowhere near 1 in 5 actually, but still 1.2 Billion ish)

That's quite a lot of people that probably care a bit.

Of all the improbable things in the Bible, I find it hard to believe that the pope is a drummer.

Pat Mcquaid would make a good pope as he has years of experience of leading an organisation thats primary objective is to maintain power, wealth and influence rather that do what is morally right.
