Some bloke got nailed to a tree for saying that.

You lot are well funny, on every single thread people deviate from the thread topic to abuse, insult and correct one another. Can't we all just get along?

Well, seeing as it's never happened in the entire history of the human race before, I'd suggest not. 😀

Still, always nice to meet an optimist. 🙂

He's not been well for ages, tbh - why do you think they carry him round in that big chair?

My couldntgiveaflying****ometer has just registered no interest in the leader of a silly club resigning

Yes, this has absolutely no relevance for non-Catholics at all. 🙄

EDIT: Implicit 🙄 made explicit

If you can get this across to the BBC then I and many like me will be eternally in your debt. there was a guy in my work retired early due to ill health last year. We got him a cake. It didn't make the news, but then he never went around in a dress telling people who they could marry and not to be gay.

"The Pope must have done something even the Church finds unacceptable. I'm guessing he's shagged an adult woman."

That is pretty funny (IMO)!

Yeah how dare these mere women question the right of gods representatives on earth to label them second class citizens. She obviously needs to spend some time at the magdalene sisters to sort out her errant ways.

are people who have free thinking minds and emotions, and not brainwashed from an early age, actually intrested in which pensioner gets to tell a load of guillable people, that they cant be gay, have abortions, when they made a mistake and had sex which resulted in them having a kid, when they didnt want one, that they should give money every sunday in a huge building that isnt used during the week, to a chap in a dress who only works on a sunday,to subsidise the payments to abused children, and an organisation that fails to do anything about its preists who have abused children from a position of authority.

They could elect Worzel Gummidge as pope, for all that most people care.

Surely the one message that is synonymous with the Catholic Church down through the ages is...

Careful now!

My apologies in that case - I have to admit that comment wasn't based on the article particularly, but when I saw the name of the author I inwardly groaned - only remember coming across her once before on some radio programme where she was doing a full-on hardcore impression of being a militant feminist.
