A foolish friend of mine has trapped the canvas of his pop top in the hinge and put a hole in it. I've told him he is a careless idiot. I've suggested sail repair tape might work, but thought I would ask if anyone has any better ideas. It's not bad enough to warrant getting the whole canvas replaced.

Sail repair tape will work for a short period of time.
Emergency repair = duct tape applied on the inside
Proper repair = get the canvas to a sail loft for a proper repair to be done (will be a patch) - costs less than you think.
