Bike theft related incident, not mine, now sitting waiting for police to arrive to take a statement.

Why didn't PC Man take a statement at the scene of the crime instead of sending me home to sit about waiting for him to take a full statement in my house? I can remember less now than I could at 3pm...

And i've had to hide all the guns drugs and knives.

I've been here before...

Ups: Someone has their BSO back, some scrotes are being told off and arrests figures for bike theft + 1

Downs: No evening ride for me waiting for plod to arrive.

Puts me off this vigilantism business altogether.

Why didn't PC Man take a statement at the scene of the crime instead of sending me home to sit about waiting for him to take a full statement in my house?

1) He had several more pressing jobs lining up which his control room and his sergeant were pestering him to cover so they could meet their call handling and response time targets?
2) You should remember more as time goes on and memories are formed.
3) You have the opportunity to dig out photos, receipts etc which he can cover in one hit, rather than you ringing him in a weeks time (by which time he's on nights so it'll be another week til he gets back to you).

mainly 1, though (writing as a sgt forced to do the pestering thanks to targets intefering with actually doing a decent job).

How can you make him a cup of tea at the scene?

Unless you are Ray Mears in which case your question is a valid one.

Now here is a money saving deal, write an essay, stating

your name and address, telephone number, and email,

date of theft /time/place

Item stolen, /value/description/

Was the item locked to an imovable object/ do you have the key if key locked,

and then email it to some office, to be filed away.

and youve saved a tea bag and 2 sugars.

Well PC just came and did his thing, success.

Two yooves nicked, one bike returned, bang to rights, all done and dusted.

And he declined tea, but was born in the house across the road.

The story is thus:

"Scrotes steal bike, attempt Crack Converters sale, neighbour of owner sees bike being wheeled at pace out of said drugs4goods establishment and up into the streets, flags me down and asks if i've seen aforementioned reprobates."

I am on my bike.

"Chris finds bike in bushes after passing aforementioned pondlife who made audible, significant comment about being better off stealing my kind of bike before scarpering".

😀 @crashtest

That's the second this year. I'm off to watch Kickass.

Also, kudos to the service. Hate the system, not the people that enforce it.
