Just staying over at cousins new cottage and no hot water pressure, hot tap starts at a trickle then stops, cold tap work but I would say not good mains pressure. Boiler and cylinder set up, same upstairs and down. Any tips on where to look or how to check mains pressure, will look st stop tap later. Been like it for a while. Thanks

If you're not getting any water out of the cylinder/tank then it's not mains related.

I'd go with either someone had turned the feed to the tank of and it's empty or there an air lock somewhere.

If it's mixer tap you can try and block it and then run the cold to force water back into the cylinder and clear a lock. This won't work if there are one way valves on the tap though.

Check the ballcock for the header tank in the loft.

this will only work on older taps, newer the feeds are separate right to the nozzle tip, worth a try though

Do you know if its an open vent cylinder or an unvented cylinder?

Hi and thanks for replies, sorry did not get into roof to check tank ballcock, open cylinder I think. One of the red (hot water?) gate values was showing build up from limescale (as slight drip-leak) and the old values would not move by hand (so i did not force them!), plumber required i think to check values and scale build up.
