Must be wool or other natural material and breathable, suitable for wearing all day when working on one's feet?

Then it's got to be cool absorbent cotton and the best place for cotton socks is good old M&S.

Sportpursuit have Isobaa merino socks on offer at the moment (£12-20 for a 3-pack), they say delivery by Christmas but not sure I'd totally trust that (my Sportpursuit orders sometimes take a couple of weeks to arrive).

Other than that I mostly buy socks from TKMaxx, they usually have a good selection inc. bamboo and merino (usually blended though).

I've been sent three pairs of bamboo socks as a promo by BAM - they feel lovely and soft.

I just did some xmas shopping at https://www.stand4socks.com/

They donate a pair to a homeless shelter for every pair that you buy.

Smartwool socks - ranging from thick to thin - all wash brilliantly, without "matting".
Definitely my favourite brand.

On One's socks are super comfy but don't last long.

I recently got a pair of these. They're really well made and very premium if you're buying xmas presents (they have a shop in Covent Garden so that's where your money is going...)

I really like the injinji socks but a lot of people think the toe sock thing is freaky.

Myself and the OH just purchased a bunch of Stance socks off Sportspursuit. They are incredibly comfy, plus some nice designs.

I got some happy socks for my birthday last year.... more pairs is my ONLY request to OH for XMAS
My 10yr old steals them ... after he had to wear my socks coming home despite them being way too big they are that soft and comfy
