Can anyone recommend me and SWMBO a hotel/pub/B&B in Whitby for a weekend away without offspring?
Ideally with a seaview, not too noisy but within easy reach of the harbour area (on foot).

We stayed there and there is something special about climbing all the steps and going up through the church grounds to get back to the room.
Downsides are: Parking - we were lucky but there's only about 8 spaces. And the rooms are like YHA rooms (that might put some people off). Best view is of the Abbey, but I think it's a big family disabled room.
Breakfast was great in the cafe in the morning though.
Much prefer this to B&B, but there are probably better if you're willing to spend on a Hotel.
(oh and YHA seem to be getting dearer and dearer)
I can recommend [url= http://www.sandsendbaycottages.co.uk/ ]this place[/url], a couple of miles walk to Whitby along the beach. Stayed here a few times, love it.
