Anyone have any idea when the relaxed rules on planning are gonna come into effect?
Government announced it in Nov 2012 but ain't herd anything since.
I think it was just a sound-bite, nothing seems to have happened and local planning authorities don't like the idea at all.
EDIT: Just apply for planning permission.....
And potentially waste £200 and time sorting paperwork out?
The paperwork is minimal, and I think it's cheaper than £200 (I do recall being surprised at how cheap it was). Plus, within 8 weeks, you'll know if you can go ahead or not. Phone them up before applying and you'll have a pretty good idea whether they'll accept it or not.
Gonna visit planning department tomorrow.
Cannot wait.
Relaxed rules came in in March 2012 with the NPPF 🙄
Visited planning today.
Relaxed rules aren't in place yet and they are unsure when they will be in place.
Oh and gonna be £200 lighter, £175 for application then £25 for location and block plan mapping.
Now I've got the job of filling out 3 application forms, cannot wait.
It'll be worth it when the tree-house is finished.
aracer - the NPPF are not 'relaxed planning rules' - the NPPF replaces the previous system of PPG and PPS.
I believe the OP is referring to the proposed amendments to the GPDO ('permitted development') which are still in the process of being finalised.
Bren2709 - no date yet but this Government has form (in planning, at least) for introducing sometimes significant change at very short notice. Keep watching. The place to check is the Department for Communities and Local Government website.
Stimpy - cheers for the link.
Have herd spring at the earliest for new development rights, dragging my heels til then might mean having to wait another 2-3 month for builder.
Just gonna pay fees and get started on the tree house 😀
Bet the bloody thing won't apply in PPPAland.
They have some fixation that the Park should be preserved in some non specific time in the past - yet they allow all sorts of environmental vandalism to occur.
