What does everyone have in the way of pens?
Recently bought this Bastion S/S Bolt Action - it's very nice, but heavy (which I don't mind) - may try the titanium version too. They seem super popular with the EDC crowd and I think folk end up fitting Parker cartridges

With a converter so I can use pots of ink. It's so smooth and looks great.
Rather prescient thread as I’ve received 3 of these pentel energel deluxe rtx .5mm tip in black/blue/red today Along with a new siegel 822 conceptum spiral desk jotter, doubt I could use the pen to break a window though so prob not very good as an item of edc, damn good pens to write with though
There can be only one.
Typical German wonderfullness. I have a range in every weight. Rotring Tikky Graphics. Essentially a disposable Rotring Rapidograph. A fiver each and frankly the finest thing you can write or draw with

My current favourite is a twsbi diamond 580. The ink reservoir is huge, and the cap screws on so doesn't come off in my pocket or become loose.

Pilot G2. I do have some fancy pen somewhere that takes G2 innards, but I tend to just use the plastic ones.
I got a Rotring rapid pro pen and pencil to try and stop throwing away plastic disposables. They are all style and no substance.
The pen needed the cartridge replaced from new as it wasn't good, I put a fischer one in. Also the click mechanism is sloppy and sticks. The pencil I liked until I bent the .5mm lead sleeve and they couldn't supply me with a spare so I'm throwing away expensive metal not cheap plastic.

I was given a Porsche Tek Flex rollerball and year later a matching pencil. I have left 2 of the roller balls in the train and had to surreptitiously replace them so nice as they are they live in a drawer now.
Left-hander here so the teacher says I have to use pencil until I can learn not to smudge.
Tombow Fudenosuke - the hard-tipped version.
Been using these for my scrawling, diagramming and doodling in a plain white ring bound A4 watercolour pad for the past 5 years.
Perfect line weight and doesn’t run through post it notes like sharpies can.

Far more than I should have.
I have a couple of namisu fountain pens, a lamy calligraphy one, 2 lamy fountain pens.
Various lamy ballpoints.
Those are the ones I have sat on my desk
Zebra 701. Classy looking biro. Super comfy and writes well. I do have a TWSBI fountain pen too but I've got stacks of refills and the 701 just nails it.
Old Parker Jotter with a Fisher cartridge. Will be getting another one in all metal.
After rejecting a lot of options for scribbling thoughts down I have come to the Rotring Tikky rollerballs (Medium). I don't have fancy handwriting, or write much other than notes so it works perfectly for me.
My main pen is a Kaweco Brass Sport fountain pen, though I recently had to replace the nib, so opted for a broad nib which is much smoother.

Anyone interested in a brass namisu fountain pen.
I don't really like it, prefer the weight of the alu or ti ones
Absolute fave is a 60s Sheaffer fountain pen but the plastic's cracked now and the cap won't stay on.
Unless I'm doing it wrong, I'm not convinced by the TWSBI - the ink knob rattles a bit and the nib has come loose a few times. Advice gladly accepted.
I’ve got a pilot G2 as well, it’s great, euro nibs are far too fat for me. I don’t like that it’s a screw too though, I really want a vanishing point but I’ve not managed to convince myself to spend that amount of money on a pen.
I’m 40 next year though...

Can't wait till scotroutes tells us all how he can get through the day without writing anything and we're all commando wannabes.
Anyhoo, bought myself a Luger pen and its braw. I use a Fischer Space pen at work but the Uni-ball Hiflow is a great pen as well.
I can go through weeks without writing anything, e-mail and OneNote have replaced writing. My writing is also truly terrible.
But, but, I still I crave a nice fountain pen.
I'm weird.
I'd like to mention Ajoto https://www.ajoto.com/ which is owned and operated by a good friend of mine. They're based in Manchester and support sustainable British manufacturing. The pens are stunning too.

I went for ages just using a computer or scrawling notes using chewed biros etc, but I found that going back to a decent fountain pen and paper made a real difference - it became a pleasure to write again and I've really gone back to it in a big way. It helps that I can scan my notes onto our files so they're there if needed but I really prefer using a 'proper' ink pen for most things nowadays.
After a lifetime of pen exploration I have decided that the humble Pentel Energel is the ultimate writing instrument. I also like the Zebra FxMD (replacement for F701) but the barrel is slightly too narrow for comfort.

Uniball Eye fine, superb if you're a scribbly doodler like me, and for quick sketching of ideas.
Back when I was still at school I saw Mike Wilks on the BBC Drawing Course using a 0.1mm Rotring pen, the one with the tiny wire for a nib. I killed a number of them doing very fine crossed hatched drawings trying to emulate his style, (his not mine obvs):

Pilot V5 Hi-Tecpoint. Never use anything else.
Uni Ball Eye because colours
Fisher bullet space pen in titanium finish. Easy to carry in a pocket. Easy to get refills for. Though fairly easy to lose 😕
My current lot on the go:
Pilot G1
Pilot V Razor Point Extra Fine
Pilot V5 Hi-Tecpoint
The G1 is a longstanding favourite, smooth ink flow system but can throw up blobs of ink now and again.
The V Razor Point Extra Fine is the current one in most use - good, but despite the name not quite fine enough for me.
The V5 Hi-Tecpoint is finer and preferred but can go a little scratchy from time to time.
I've recently cleaned up a load of Rotring pens from a few decades ago, and have a big bottle of ink so should probably try those again. Not sure if they'd flow as well in general use on paper as some of the Pilots above though.
Black and gold Cross Townsend as the everyday pen.
Rotring 600. Nice weight and relatively inexpensive for when I lose the damn things...
