Used PayPal to buy some bits then returned them. Had an email and can also see a refund was made by the seller when I log into PayPal but my account balance is nil. Checked my bank on-line and no refund is showing.

Anyone know how long it takes to see the refunded money in either the PayPal account balance or into the bank?

Whenever I've done a paypal refund I've assumed it's been instant into the recipients account. Obviously it takes a few days for any paypal funds to reach your bank account when you withdraw them.

Could it be that the money has gone directly to your bank account via paypal, but is currently in the ether so to speak?

4 working days seems to be the norm for me for withdrawing funds.

Cheers, Rich

Had a big argument with them about this, paid for my wifes engagement ring via paypal with the agreement of the seller, but he ended up returning the funds to me. Couple of grand left my Bank Account (via Paypal) instantly, the seller then rejected the payement straight away. It then took them 7 days to recredit it. Which according to them is normal.

Wonder how much interest they make during those 7 days?

I guess it is just a case of sitting and waiting then.

depends on how you paid and also whether the money was in their paypal account or 'funded' in my experience (both as refunder and refundee). I think it was instant when I paid from my balance and it hadn't left their account balance. I had one occasion where it took about 3 days to clear into my paypal account when they'd obviously refunded via their bank/card...
