I'm not a big user of PayPal for selling items outside of eBay but tonight I sent someone a money request, the money has appeared in my PayPal account but it also says that the original request hasn't been responded to.
Does that sound right or am I about to be scammed somehow?

If you send a money request the recipient has to click a link to respond. It sounds like they haven't clicked that link but just sent you the money anyway.
