Some of you may remember my thread earlier this year about being made redundant; it came as a bit of a shock initially, but in hindsight I probably knew it was on the horizon. I was lucky enough to find a job that started the Monday after I left the previous role, it was good, but it had a 140 mile a day round trip commute attached.

So I was kind of looking for something considerably closer to home, which I managed to land at the start of the month 😀 so come the New Year I'll be on the train every day in and out of Manchester, with the added bonus of more money, better package and hopefully better prospects.

The chap who is replacing me is now sat at his desk and waiting on me to configure my laptop for him (until his arrives), so he can crack on with things. Now as soon as I hand it over I'll have no access to anything, so the next couple of days are a bit of a write-off before I say my farewells on Wednesday.

In the warmer / nicer weather it's pretty much rideable all the way there, with the exception of the bit from Sale to Stretford, but there may be a way round that.
