Got one of these a few weeks ago...I'd attempted to pay with 2 different cards as I had no cash...both were spat out and an error message came up on the machine so I got a ticket.i wrote a letter and sent off payment for the parking(always paid anyhow) and get a snotty letter this week from a company demanding more money...am I right in saying as a parking charge in Scotland it's not enforceable? Or is that rubbish

I got one because of a long story with my trailfairy pass. Ignored it completely, never heard a peep. This shouldn't be taken as advice!

How on earth do you expect trail centres to succeed if people don't pay parking charges? They don't run themselves you know & parking fees bring in ££££'s to be invested in future trail building & repairs to existing trails. If you don't like parking fees, do what I do & don't use them! (except verry occasionally, like about once every 3 years) 😉

egf - there's still time to re-read the OP and edit your post..... 😀

You wouldn't want to be accused of trolling 😆

Further to this, how much of the charge do you think goes to the centre?! Glentress are hardly struggling what with the recent multi million development (not on the trails it has to be said).

Euro money. Apparently they got what they'd asked for, but they only asked for what they did as there was an assumption they'd only get 50%...

Parking Charge Notices are unenforcable anywhere you go. You've already tried to do the right thing, if they won't take your money then that's up to them.

Glentress are hardly struggling

is it not the forestry commission scotland? or has Glentress Inc become an entity?

I got one and ignored it (I was caught out by the price rise and had only paid for a one hour ticket, then over stayed). I didn't hear a peep from them.

A friend got one, wrote to them with a sob story about losing his ticket in the vents in his Land Rover and they wrote back to confirm it was written off.

These were both a while back, so I suspect they are taking a harder line now.
