Now the Man U fans can rest assured that they haven't had the worst performance of the weekend - and Liverpool have 11 players on the field.
3 deflected goals for Villa and a nailed on pen not given to Liverpool but still....
2020 just continues to get more jarring and weird by the day.
As an Evertonian all I’m thinking is 28 more points to safety! The derby coming up so I’m sure Liverpool will bounce back (ever the optimistic blue that’s me!!)
If Everton win the derby then we know the world is truly broken beyond repair.
Villa are now showboating and doing cheeky back heals.
This has truly been a day of two halves
I’ve never enjoyed watching a match less, followed by one of the most enjoyable games I’ve ever watched. 😂
I’m surprised John Terry didn’t get his kit on
It's telling that one of the most enjoyable games you've ever watched is a Liverpool match. 😉
BTW I've had an idea, I think they should put an asterisk next to whoever wins the PL this season.
...and last season, cos that didn't count either (from a City fan)...
*whooooooooooooooosh
It’s telling that one of the most enjoyable games you’ve ever watched is a Liverpool match
You watched the United game. I needed some serious cheering up after that debacle. Cheers to the scousers for happily obliging 😃
Seriously though... how mental is this season going to be? It’s bloody brilliant! The football has been fantastic! Villa didn’t fluke that today. They played Liverpool off the park. And that kind of mentalness is happening all the time. Long may it continue. It means the table is wide open
Ploy by Liverpool to take the attention away from United to keep Ole in a job?!
Crazy start to the season! Liverpool were excellent against Chelsea and Arsenal but walloped by a side who avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season. Someone’s going to ship 10 this season I reckon, I’d fear for Fulham if Man City show up against them.
It's weird innit, Arsenal looked really good but Liverpool were better, and today they looked utterly inept. Complacency/lockdown weirdness/no pre-season? It's very, very odd watching this with fake crowd noise and only a handful of people in masks in the stadium.
The football has been fantastic!
Soon it will be rugby scores, then basketball, then actual cricket scores.
Well if there is any complacency that’ll kick it out of them!
There's certainly something about the empty stadia which is turning out some pretty freakish performances.
I’m surprised John Terry didn’t get his kit on
He's busy. Lots of footballers wives were at home.
Transfer deadline day.
I wonder if there are any clubs trying to offload some deadwood who haven't been on the phone to Ed Woodward already today
Quite the day…
Liverpool doing the “hold my beer” bit for Utd.
Actually I reckon it was Everton asking who you call when your neighbour let's in more than 6
Big news on transfer deadline day
Arsenal’s beloved dinosaur Gunnersaurus SACKED due to cost-cutting measures after 27 years as mascot

Seems a bit rash. He's probably contributed considerably more on the pitch recently than Mesut Ozil
So you’ve signed a left back Binners! Still no centre half though but Cavani I think will do ok if he’s signed. More Ibrahimovich than Sanchez.
He’s probably contributed considerably more on the pitch recently than Mesut Ozil
Are you sure that’s not Ozil in that skin?
More Ibrahimovich than Sanchez.
That's what we're hoping. The fact remains that our problems are at the other end of the pitch, though. We don't have a central defence at the moment.
Apparently, on Sunday, Bruno was subbed as he'd gone absolutely ballistic at Maguire in the dressing room at half time and told him he wasn't fit to wear the shirt, never mind the captains armband. An entirely correct assertion from a player who's earned the right to be as critical as he likes.
If I was Ole I'd have benched Maguire and given Bruno the armband. Instead he took our best player off and left that Donkey on to continue his clueless and inept defensive performance. I endured rewatching the 'highlights' on MOTD and his performance was absolutely unforgivable. He wouldn't get in your average pub side on the strength of that
I see United fans have started a petition with the Greek police to get him sent back over there 😀
Maguire in the dressing room at half time and told him he wasn’t fit to wear the shirt, never mind the captains armband
Is he still the most expensive defender? Shocking in that last game
The 'highlight' of his performance was heading a ball straight up into the air right in font of goal and then physically hauling Luke Shaw to the ground as he tried to cover for the mess he'd just created, gifting Spurs a goal in the process.
I couldn't quite believe what I was watching
Up the Arsenal. A great buy i reckon. parteytime etc
Should stick Özil in the Gunnersaurus suit
fair play to Mr Ozil - he's offered to pay Gunnersaurus' salary.
Love a good reactionary Binners rant! One bad game and Maguire is mince. You should go on 606!
This article in the Guardian should get Binners frothing at the mouth - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/oct/06/manchester-united-transfers-the-15-windows-of-ed-woodward
How he is still in a job is beyond me, but as a Leeds fan I hope he continues to do his worst 😉
So...who else is telling Sky to shove their subscription following the PPV announcement?
@philby - I don’t even have to read that article to know the horrors it contains. Woodward remains in a job, despite knowing the square root of * all about football, because he’s very good at finding new noodle ‘partners’ in Singapore, or whatever. And money is the only thing the owners care about.
Speaking of which... the Premier League. Classy! People can’t go to the match, or go to the pub to watch it, so let’s use this ‘opportunity’ for a bit of blatant profiteering.
I’ll be cancelling my Sky Sports subscription today as I know the next United game is pat per view, on top of my existing subscription. And where on earth did they pluck the figure of fifteen quid a game?
They can * right off!
It’ll do my blood pressure the world of good not watching it anyway, if last week is anything to go by
Dunno why the anger at Sky/BT? This is the a Premier League’s idea and the clubs voted 19/20 for it.
RM.
Disgusting.
Not long after a club bag their mascot to save money, and fling millions at another no mark midfielder.
The arse. Well named.
I think the anger is at the level of greed being demonstrated by everyone involved. Nice bit of opportunistic profiteering.
The fact of the matter is that I have a Sky sports subscription, which isn’t cheap, yet they want me to pay fifteen quid to watch the next United game.
I can think of all manner of things I’d rather spend fifteen quid on than watching that shite 😂
Yes Binners, I agree - should have been back to how it was at the restart of the 19/20 season where all games are shown on a mix of subs/free channels.
RM.
Does it take covid to highlight how money driven top tier sport is for everyone to see it? I'm not excusing the behaviour btw
I think the figure is too high but they are televising games that were never going to be televised originally which does have a cost attached to it.
The people who are really getting scammed are those who have already bought season tickets and probably Sky/BT subs and are being told to fork out again.
Blimey! They’re really not wasting a good crisis, are they? Just when you think those running football can’t get any more mercenary, they somehow come up trumps

Imbecile commentators (England games)
Clearly not the first, look where he signalled the offside. That's been given for the player directly in front of Pickford.
I’ve got bets on a Belgium win, with Lukaku and De Bruyne to score.
One down, two to go
I reckon a comfortable four nil here
Blimey! My predictions were as accurate as ever.
I don’t normally bother with Engerland games but that was a pretty respectable second half performance
Just seen the England penalty - hand on the shoulder and down. Very very soft.
Henderson pretty much admitted the same in the post match interviews, but it's a cut throat business and if the defender's daft enough nowadays to softly caress him on the side of his neck he shouldn't be surprised when Jordan swoons at his feet
There's way too many penalties in football now, it's getting tedious.
What do we think of the power grab proposals from Liverpool and ManU?
To be honest a lot of it is fairly sensible IMO, it is just the taking of voting rights by the big 6+3 that is problematic. Get rid of that bit and I would probably be in support (having so far only seen the reporting and not the details).
Yup agreed MSP, mostly good I think. I'm not even sure it's that unfair for the teams that are always in the PL to have more say over its direction but I think they've gone too far.
It also feels pretty shady to be saying 'yes we will help the EFL but this is the price'.
Anyone watching the England game? God it's grim. Maguire sent off then they concede a penalty straight after. Was really dire before that too.
I think Maguire must have been poisoned by mystery Albanians again. Dreadful tackles from him.
