I want to paint the edge of glass panel that has been stuck in with sealant for aesthetics and to protect the sealant from UV. Normally when painting window frames I go to great lengths to not get paint on the glass but if I do then it sticks to the glass just fine. Does that mean I can just use an exterior gloss and all will be fine? Is there something better, hammerite? It doesn't need to be super neat. I have condidered fitting a trim piece but in reality paint will actually be better, if it works.
I have painted glass using hammerite before and it was perfect, I used a foam roller to get it to go on and stay on as a brush seemed to just push the paint around.
Put a length of wide paper tape over the glass leaving just the bit you want to be painted. Paint over with gloss or what ever. Remove the tape and there is a nice straight line.
