[Closed] Pages not loading??

Yep im getting the not responding thing a lot. Its been going on for over a week. I just leave when it starts as it keeps happening. Chrome on W10.

Many pages (just the forum IIRC) not loading intermittently yesterday evening, I think it was code 502. Was back in a few minutes.

It seems to come and go for me.

Yes, some threads open but only half the page visible (safari on iPad). The page unresponsive error on Mac/chrome hasn’t been so frequent lately though.

I get this on my phone (android) a fair bit, click a thread, it starts to load then freezes. I navigate away to some other website and come back and it works ok.

The forum was really crappy last night, loads of bad gateways and getting logged out while reading a thread. Just been logged out again as it happens, it really is quite bad, more so than any other forum I use.

Had a couple of 502 (Bad Gateway) errors on Monday night, a page refresh "fixed" them. Can't say I get that more than with other similar sites. The 502 error can be due to the server (or one of the servers in the chain) being overloaded with requests, it's not really a problem with the site per se.

Same here - pages not loading (hanging - no error message); pages half loading & only 2 page numbers at the bottom of the front page (Safari on Iphone).

‘Tis borked, and has been for sometime. Why they can’t get decent, functional, off-the-shelf forum software is beyond me.

Me too, pages just hang/ don’t fully load on iPad. Have to close and reopen tabs. My ‘P’ expired and wondering if I’ll ever renew.

Just adding to this to say yes, there is a problem. We are prioritising a fix on this now and are giving it our full attention. I'll keep you updated but I hope to have a fix for this asap.

Cheers for the update Mark. There’s banners & pop-ups sliding around all over the place. Fast becoming unusable. Shane, as the nice thing about the forum was its simplicity & ease on the eye.

Even as a subscriber logged in I constantly get the 502 error.

Pages on this site take many times as long to load as any other site and this is th eonly site that happens on.

Hamsters and/or their wheels need replacing.

Bad Gateway / very slow load times are back this morning.

There doesn't appear to be a "reporting form" either (I've just emailed tech@ )

I find it hangs a lot, with the occasional 502 error.

As slow loading sites go, this is equivalent to the 90's internet, with a poor connection. OK we are talking maybe only 10 seconds, but compared to every other site I've ever visited, this is like molasses.

Edit: Funny thing just happened. When i hit 'Submit' for my comment, i got a 502 page 😆

I get 502 a lot, but only on my telephone, never on my laptop.
I thought it was just my telephone being weird

Hopefully someone from Tech will be over to provide a better explanation but at the moment I think they’re doing the IT equivalent of fighting with shields and swords.

From the (very) little I understand of what’s happening, there’s a site sending requests to ours every 4 seconds and that’s what’s behind the problem. But it’s some kind of payment facility site that’s integrated into various widgets so we can’t just block it. Or something like that. There’s a reason I do words not IT!
