Wassat then?

I assume it's not just the driver wanting everyone to know they had finally got over that cheating low life, Finch McBastard*?

Don't think driving around town in a Range Rover is quite ostentatious enough?
You need Overfinch.

Max Power for people who confuse wealth with taste.

Oh I see. Is it good tuning like Brabus/AMG, or blingadingdong boy racer level?

JLR have already had the biggest laugh by charging a £20k premium to squash a Freelander and make it a reverse TARDIS.

Some of their conversions cost £60k+

(With the "+" being the price of the normal Range Rover to do the conversion on)

There's one local to me, belongs to David Coulthard's older brother and it's the top of the range £140,00+ Sport GTS-X model (naturally) - sounds lovely when booted but i don't think i could live with 10mpg average fuel economy, the interior is a work of art but for that sort of money i guess it should be.

Every self-respecting gangster/drug lord in Manchester drives one. Presumably as they want to look inconspicuous. Take what is essentially a pretty ugly car anyway, and make it look like a transformer. The living V8 epitome of the phrase 'money can't buy you taste'

If you really want to perfect the mid level Manc drug dealer look you need a Kahn conversion (google them)
Basically biggest wheels that will fit and crome and blacked out windows

Friend of mine had an Overfinch. Sounded like a Spitfire engine.

Kahn is where it's at. They're into all sorts of schnizzle now and some of the cars they have in their compound for steroid injections are eye-watering. Last time I drove past there was a Veryron in there.

I also believe a very successful business, so good on them.

EDIT: Already said! Took too long posting by looking a their garage!

Cos footballers and pimps have no taste and tiny willies.

Overfinch is for people who think that Clarkson is a deity and have an IQ in the village idiot percentile

Overfinch are the 'original' RR modifiers. Their work could be quite garish (more often than not IMO) but also quite cool (things like gun racks, minibars etc). They also did a lot for the power. I think they were also approved by RR.

Kahn aimed more at the footballer end of the style spectrum. I don't know what they do in terms of power.

I believe Kahn now own Overfinch as they have been a lot more successful in recent years.

Interestingly I have noticed that Brabus now don't seem to be able to add much power to Mercs like they used to as Mercedes now tune their cars very well. Brabus just seem to spend all the money on over the top styling now to the point they look embarrassing.

Stop moaning. I blurred out your personalised plate. NOBLO1 8)

The more I think about it, I think I meant Abarth, rather than Brabus.

There is a really nice late '70s Overfinch that I see around here. It's in nice used condition (complete with a bunch of crap in the boot) and sounds ace.

There is also a Kahn, the driver is a cock.

Is it time to bring Stephen Ireland into the thread yet? He is the epitone of bad taste, and has ruined many cars in his history, and as much as most owners of such cars are actually city wide boys and sloane rangers rather than footballers, he does outdo them all by some distance.

and yes that last one really is a bentley, and not a morris marina with a cheap plastic body kit.

I don't know, compared to Carmichael, Glenfrome, Townley and (OMactualG) Vantagefield Overfinch's work comes across restrained and understated

Jamie - i saw this on my way home today. Must be the same car. I'd just come from Orton Hall hotel (we got married there last yr and are going back for our 1st anniversary - I'd just been sorting a booking). Looks like you were in the locale...

It was heading the other way and headed up onto the Parkway towards Thorpe Wood.
Was driven fairly sensible cconsidering how this sort of car is normally driven!

If you enjoy a good cringe, go onto Rightmove, search for properties in and around Alderley Edge. Sort by most expensive first and prepare to be boggled.

Actually I take back what I said about the Ireland chappie, for a proper display of gawdiness takes real old money and centuries of inbreeding.

Least twisted performance actually do engines on the defenders they do 🙂

See a revere rangey on my ride home, revere manage to make a standard full size rangey look like it ram raided halfords:(

Oh yes! Although it would really have to be an SWB for me.

I think the Saluki TDV6 Biturbo, with 245bhp and 530Nm might be the more practical, though:
