I'm trying to fix our washing machine - the brushes had worn out, so I have replaced them, which was pretty straightforward, but it still isn't working.

Seeing as though I just thought it was the brushes that had worn out, I was expecting that to be be the cure...

Any other ideas? could something have fused when the old brushes wore out? (can you tell I'm clutching at straws?!!!)

Get in someone that knows what they are doing or you could end up doing more damage to the machine or worse still to yourself

hmm, fair point I suppose, its just that its 5 years old, by the time I have paid someone to come out to look at it, I could put the money towards a new one.
