I think it was. One stellar album that outsold the next best selling album about four times over, but everything else was average IMO.

I enjoyed his earlier music and his 'best of' album is one of the few CDs in the car that the family can agree on to listen to.

Last night I was wondering if there would be any kind of drugs involved, that could have led to this, and today's Daily Mail is reporting he was addicted to painkillers and that his personal doctor was with him at the time of his cardiac arrest, having given him a huge injection. Obviously that story has to be treated with caution, but doesn't sound too good really.
As for Uri Geller, I feel sorry for him too. He too has an interesting story about his earlier years, before he became a celeb with all that spoon bending, but hey ho.

Yes it is difficult - fortunately the three of us (her three adult offspring) all live closeby (my kid bro' still lives with her when not working away) and we have just had two beautiful twins which are helping take her mind off things, but you can just see her mind wander off and find dad again every so often 🙁

I lost my dad very suddenly two years ago and mum is still getting to grips with it. That first summer I tried to do all the little jobs I could for her which turned out to be a bad thing as she wanted to do loads of stuff herself otherwise she felt useless.
They say time's a great healer but I'm not sure you can fix losing the person you've been married to for 52 years.
Life really sucks sometimes - you try and spend your life with one person but someone is always left alone at the end of it.
Keep an eye on her and try and get her doing stuff (anything really) to help the days pass. We've got three girls under 9 (inc twins) and they mean the world to mum - your kids will be great medicine.
It will get better for you all but it never really goes away.

Erm no! The first album he released was Off The Wall when I was a youthfull 16 years of age. There's not a bad note on that album. An album that never become tiring and is packed with hits.
Quincy Jones made Jackson's productions flawless - QJ THE most successful record producer of all time (check out the facts online).
MJ was a genius writer and performer. I saw him live at Wembley and frankly, the showmanship was dazzling. Highly charismatic! He deserved to be the success that he was due to his talent!
A troubled soul and much maligned in recent years, an emotionally damaged shy person off the stage, very eccentric and stupidly naive in many respects.
I guess if you are too young to have experienced the development of this legend and his music, or just don't like the style of music, or believe everything you read in a news paper, you might not think this is a big deal.
I do agree that the news channels are overdoing it though. BBC News 24 always get "stuck" and exclude all other news. I've complained to them a few times about this. I recommend you do the same. They might then listen.
