CountZero - I am definitely not a flirty girlie. I have met enough people from here - just ask the other 25 that turned up for the Sunday Chilterns Forum Ride. I'm over 50 for goodness sake 🙄

I loved his songs but not his personal life image.

Could be faked so he can have peace and quiet... 😈

as a person he had serious issues

And as a kid he had very serious issues ........... a whole childhood of never-ending abuse. Just so that he could entertain adults.

Only - he paid the price. No one else did.

I feel sorry for all the people who paid well over face value for his "last ever" concerts.

Saw him at the old Wembley Stadium in '86. A highly talented, stunning stage performer, on a par with the legendary Queen.

Another music legend RIP!

Ambrose

Never proven in a court of law that he was a paedophile. If people started making unproven allegations of that nature about yourself I think that you might get a bit annoyed.

[Edited to remove crude content - Mod]

He made some great pop music.

Oh well that's all right then.

I'm not remotely saddened or shocked by this tragic...no..natural occurrence.

He as a person had no impact on me worthy of remorse or care for his departure, i always find it bizzare that people respond in such a way that that will be these coming weeks to someone they never knew.......

Death has never had a big impact on me, only the once....

I was reminded of the hurt i went through then just a couple days ago, 10 yrs ago this november i lost someone i only knew for just 6mths and spent just 15mins with her, the 5mins she was alive for were spent with doctors, we watched her last half gasp....

I'll never care or mourn for people i've never met, never spoken for or don't know, but that's me.....

If people choose to be upset by the death of someone, whomever they are then let them.

You don't need to watch the news, read the papers or get involved in the conversations about it...turn over the tv or switch it off, put down that paper that you read and criticise it's every word.

Instead. Go ride your bike, spend time with your kids, go lead YOUR life...

PFFT!

Yes but he was convicted of lewd conduct with a minor.

Eh ? Surely 'acquitted' means 'not convicted' ? 😕

"In 2005, he was tried and acquitted of lewd conduct with a minor in Santa Barbara County."

he was a wierdo but his contribution to music was unarguable

on the plus side i bet Gordon Brown is moon walking across his office, can't see MP's expenses being in the news much for the next week!

Similar to what previous poster said - I think it's just great that I will forever remember exactly what I was doing when I found out MJ died.

Diana - In Edinburgh popping out to get the Sunday paper

John Peel - Listening to the radio while doing PhD fieldwork on Thursley Common

9/11 - Installing a new fish in my aquarium

MJ - Being a sad loser / noob on a geeky and fairly socially inept MTB forum.

TBH I find it actually quite a relief (for him) that he's gone. Poor guy, never really seemed all that happy, did he now..?

I'm sick to the back teeth of all the hand wringing, tributes and insights into 'his life', already, FFS! I dare say Glasto will be awash (see what I did there?) with badwagon jumpers proclaiming how wunnerful he was, from the Pyramid stage. Have a feeling a certain Mr Young might not be one of 'em, mind.

Those of you defending him in relation to never actually being convicted in court of being a kiddie fiddler WAKE UP!
It was his fame that got him off the hook in court, he was without a doubt a very very strange man, admitting to having boys in his bed and countless witness statements of boys going up to his various hotel rooms when he was away from home!

In my eyes he was 100% guilty and we can do without monsters like him, his death is no loss to society and the newer generation sadly don't see that, good riddance!

No telly or radio for me today then - I can't stand the 'gushing' on these occasions.
When I read it last night I thought 'Wow', but that's about it. Liked a couple of songs but didn't like the great majority and he was just weird.

Well, I turned in the telly this morning and wasn't surprised to see the only story was dead Jackson. But imagine by shock and horror when there on the screen, invading MY home, was Uri ****ing Geller. God that thing is almost more of a freak than whacko was. Can't stand him.
