Anyone else find this rude or annoying? Here's a perfect recent example.

https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/what-are-my-rights-on-a-custom-bike-build-that

Some replies have obviously taken quite some effort, and people have asked reasonable questions for a bit of clarification. Nothing from the OP, no thanks or suggestion to what he's going to do. I hope he gets lots of alpine punctures. 😀

I think it's a bit rude, but I'm old so may have an old fashioned view of manners.

Troll

The OP in the linked thread or me? I have to admit, I did think about starting this and not replying at all. 🤣

Funny sort of troll if that's what the original is. He's not posted anything controversial or named the shop.

Edit - sorry to disappoint jimjam.

Booking a riding holiday and collecting his bike on the same day told me all i needed to know about the op's grasp of time. I expect a reply in about for weeks after the conclusion of the walking holiday.

... conclusion of the walking holiday.

I see what you did there. 👍

When it requires the patience of Job to actually post on here, I'm not surprised. Life is too short sometimes.

He did say thanks for reading this which suggests he’s not particularly rude.

But whenever I’ve asked for advice I always thank people for their help.

I always appreciate responses to my threads, even when I don't acknowledge them. Sometimes, however, I do feel self-conscious about adding to my own threads, out of concern that it makes me look either (more) neurotic or interested in keeping it alive artificially.

I always appreciate when the OP comes back to the thread and says "thanks" and explains the outcome if appropriate. Otherwise, I wonder if the OP even bothered to read the responses...

I started a thread and didn't return to it recently because I couldn't find it again quickly. This updated forum doesn't always show my forum activity in my profile which is annoying .
