I expect this will appeal to a few folks here:

https://www.garrettpopcorn.com/Catalog/Recipes/bacon-cheese-popcorn

"Our new, all-natural recipe is crafted with real cheddar and the taste of juicy bacon, slow-smoked over hickory wood to bring out its hearty flavor. Pack your plate with our deliciously cheesy bacon popcorn. This smoky masterpiece is available for a limited time only!"

I love how any cheese that has a name (and doesn't come in a can) is seen as posh in America...

I was listening to the radio on the way home tonight and some joker (in London I believe, though sounded American) is supposedly making coctails with shit like that in them - e.g. they steep bacon juice in Jack Daniels & then use that to make cocktails

I imagine their top seller is a "getintheseayouhipster****"

I've had bacon and maple syrup flavour popcorn and it was lush.

That looks nice. Nothing wrong with savoury popcorn.

Ack.  In the US I used to joke about imaginary North American foodstuffs that would serve as the most representative National Dish.  The principal of which being 'chicken donuts'. 15 yrs later I bought my first chicken (and bacon) donut. From Morrisons, UK 😳

Is it Felix the Mixologist of this parish?

The bit that gets me is this

real cheddar and the taste of juicy bacon

You know that the bacon bit probably has never been anywhere near anything baconish 🙁

Last time I was there I had..

The bag was the size of a pillow! While it wasn't horrible, I perhaps didn't need that quantity....

^ Why the sad face? Did you really want popcorn with bits of flesh in it?  (Don't  have to answer!)

Can we really taste the difference in Walkers smokey bacon crisps now they ADDED 'pork dust'?  They were a successful 'accidental veggie' favourite for decades.  Now they have (suspect intensively-farmed) meat-dust in them.  Wtaf?

Only in America would they think of enhancing tomato juice with clams.

Yessiree!  Stick a bit of dead mollusc in for luck and call it Clamato!

It makes a fine Bloody Mary though.

There’s lots of words I could use to describe bacon. ‘Juicy’ would be pretty low on the list.

*Erratum

Oops.  Looks like Walkers went back to their pre-meat meaty crisps recipes so are once again a guilty treat for everyone 🙂

Making British snacks great again since 1989

http://www.nytimes.com/1989/07/04/business/pepsico-to-aid-europe-sales-buys-2-british-snack-units.html

Mr. Griffith said Pepsico had indeed set its sights on Britain as a strong growth market, based on consumer marketing data. Currently, he said, per-capita consumption of snack foods in Britain is only 60 percent of that in the United States, where people eat an average 12.6 pounds of salted snack foods a year.

How did it work out Mr Pepsico?  I'm totally addicted to crisps and just calculated that I eat over 34lbs of salted snacks per year 🤔

Yours,

Salty Spudpig

PS, back on topic, if you get the chance try Popworks Apple Pie flavoured popcorn.  It's addictive. And the apple powder is real apples.
