We will be in touch
Well, not actually the kilt, I have that already which I bought from a shop where I used to live.
I've always hired the jacket, sporran and waistcoat until now but want to own it all now for the sake of convenience. I'm looking for a green tweed jacket and waistcoat along with sporran (possibly with clan crest on it).
Has anyone had any experience of buying these online or am I better off trying to find a shop local to me? Online is certainly looking more affordable but it's still a lot of money to fork out on something I haven't seen.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.
For sporrans, in my opinion these are probably the best around. Have had mine for 20 years and it still looks like new, people always admire and comment on it:

For the other items, If you want quality and a good fit then it is best to go to a proper highlandwear shop - there is a lot of rubbish online. A lot of the jackets are available in normal and long lengths for the body and sleeves so best trying on first. I have two kilts and a jacket/ waistcoat from here:

Assuming it's a nice kilt I'd be prepared to spend accordingly on the matching kit. Go to a good outfitters.
Thanks. I'll check out of there is anywhere local and try and get fitted.
Thanks for the link to the sporrans. I'd not considered anything that was all leather but some of them look pretty good.
Interesting designs but there's no way I'm cool enough to pull it off unfortunately.
Despite not having one ounce of Scottish blood in his veins my dad has over 20 kilts & sporans, wears them at all times - the only conclusion we have come to is that he is a closet tranny

I have a full leather sporran for casual wear and a furry cow-skin sporran for more formal occasions.
Yeah, I'm thinking this will only be for formal occasion and did have a fur one in mind.
