Anyone done this with a bike box? Looking for a recommendation as local taxi firm want £300

Not to Gatwick but Enterprise were best priced for one way hire when I needed it last year.
Depends whether they have a concession there but I can’t see why they wouldn’t have, it being an international airport.

A week in the long term car park is about £80.

One way fee with enterprise is £75, so total cost will be about £120 odd if you're hiring for a day.
You'll have to find your local Enterprise though.

Yup, used to do it loads when flying out to the Alps. Any of the main car hire places should be fine, I used to use Avis.
