Rubbish, by today's standards really, but as a piece of design, wonderful. It struck me that the 2VC will be still remembered when all the other cars on the street are long forgotten.

My first car as a student was one of the limited edition 2CV6 Charlestons that they made towards the end of the model's life. As it happens there is one stored in front of a village workshop near here. Right year but wrong registration. If anyone knows the whereabouts of NTB906W then say hi from me. And yes I know it is most likely gone to the great scrap yard in the sky.

Really loving some of the cars here

Always amazes me that the old 2cv's pop up on these threads
I've owned 3 2cv's and 2 dyanes which to me are a much better car.

I've always loved air cooled engines

Here's a picture of my old karmann Ghia - quite an early one being a 1957
Sadly sold this.

[IMG] [/IMG]

.
.

My last classic was this 67 swb porsche 912 - it was a lovely old thing and i spent a lot of time getting her looking like this. Best thing was it was rhd too. Still wish i had it. What a fantastic shape and it still carries over into the modern 911's

.

[IMG] [/IMG]

[IMG] [/IMG]

.

My plan was to sell the 912 and buy a citroen ds - i sold the 912 but then never got round to buying the ds ๐Ÿ™

That was about 3 years ago now and i dont really feel the urge for an old car any more - except when the sun is shining and then i start to mull it over again 8)
'

Some really good taste in cars from the stw crowd ๐Ÿ˜€
.

Pacemaker Not sure who owns the cars in Kahns but the urban myths are they may not be his but friends who bought them from ill gotten gains. Whatever the story he has some serious money up there. Mate of mine does the painting/colour coding of the interior panels for him and is able to charge handsomely.

Love the DS myself, but think I'd prefer the Mazarrati engined SM. [img] [/img]
Saw one of these at the 2CV world meet a few years ago, DS Bagagere, used for newspaper distribution in France I believe. [img] [/img]

My mates 1935 MG Pb

we used to have a 1937 TA, think my bike has better brakes, absolutely terrorfying braking from 70. We used have to drive along an oil can filled with petrol to squirt into to bell housing to cure the chronic clutch slippage, happy days ๐Ÿ˜€

Elf I does believe that the car you are/should be referring to is

Snapped up by a Japanese gentleman for a song (600k) at the Bertone liquidation sale

Have you ever driven one Elf? Bloody awful gearbox in them.

Having owned 2cv's since 1987, and still have the one I bought in "89, I also disagree.

Unles of course you drive too fast in reverse and "unwind" the gearbox.

70s Maseratis are where it's at. Yes please.

As for me, my car pron tastes are much simpler. I'd go misty eyed for an immaculate 1991 Golf GTi 16v. Ayrton Senna apparently loved his.

And on that subject I quite like the NSX too.

Someone once told me that trucks were cool because you could throw a load of bikes in the bake and carry a load of mate, unlike the sports car. That thing has less clearance than a sports car for off road duties and I imagine would handle like a pig on the road. For the love of god, what is it trying to be?

Er that would be a babe magnet is my guess. Wimmen luv men in trucks, they think men in sports cars especially red ones are deficient in the penile department, there again, in this environment they're probably not to far of the pace all those mini budgies being smuggled in lycra on single speed bikes..

I like trucks, you can chuck up to half a dozen bikes in the back and carry five or six bodies in them, pretty much anywhere you like, all that exotic crap, other than sitting in the fast lane at 60 nose to tail, wtf use are they anywhere below the M6 from Penrith?

No-one who loves driving fast cars uses the motorway, schoolboy trolling error. And trucks are cool too, but useless on road and unable to be used off-road much in the UK so not much point in them either.

I'd love an alfasud...many years ago a mate had one, 1.7 twin carb with a s/s exhaust
You could hear it howling miles away... God it was nice!!!
Even when it broke down.which it did regulary... it was still heaven!...
As for trucks like Dereks....wrong! Wrong! Wrong!!! Hillbilly..ceegar sucking....sister shagging..moonshine smuggling...WRONG!!!!!

Loving the alfa that Bikebouy posted - I learnt to drive on my dads 1750 GTV ๐Ÿ™‚

XR2 with an alfa badge on - how can that be - the sud came first I think.

on the Top Gear track

is that at Dunsfield aerodrome - I used to para-ascended there before they used it - there used to be a little golf course between the runways.

I used to be a member of the alfa owners club (when I had the gt) we used to meet up regularly and sit chatting about drive shafts splintering, carbs and flanges, smellly leather seats and rust. Huge fun.
The gt had an 8 track player in it from new, the only tape I had was Frank Sinatras greatest hits, seemed to fit perfectly, never did change the stereo for something new, seemed wrong to me that.

I spotted this outside the walls of a pretty Tuscan hill town last summer, and couldn't resist the combination of a classic Italian backdrop to the quintessential Italian car. Yes, that really is an original Fiat Panda in racing white livery that you see there, parked just in front of that garish looking red car.
