Someone told me today that as Mc Donalds was a main sponsor that for the 2 weeks the sailings on no one else in the town will be allowed to sell chips ?A wind up surely ?

Nope... They even have "Police" out checking that no one is breaking the rules...

You do realise that that link is about the ceremonies canteen underneath the Olympic stadium. Unless they've moved Weymouth I doubt it applies.
I also doubt that all of Weymouth is going to be ticketed and within the 'clean' zone. If it sounds stupid and unlikely it probably is.
