I have an Tom Tom Live which is now out of date and I have intention of paying to update it.
Do I ditch it, or can it be hacked and turned into something useful?

You could turn it into a time machine and go back to when stand-alone SatNavs had some point 😉
Cant imagine there is anything it can be repurposed to do, that your phone can’t already do better.

Rigged an old one up to act as a media device for work where there is only a radio player on the PA system and the line-in is broken. The tom tom can broadcast over FM, so it can be used as a media player which can be tuned into by radios in proximity.
