Those woman seem a bit angry, is she really just moaning about 1 bike?
Must take this time to say a massive thanks to my wifey as she says I have too many bikes, but is still willing to buy me a new BFe for my birthday.

We have just bought a bike shed, Asgard is the maker and made of metal, is the only shed guaranteed not breakable in to and will cover DH for insurance for his 1k baby bike.

1k... someone's been telling porky pies...

The "ovulation calculator" would come in handy round here for predicting when the Mods would be needed. 😆

Binners, I was just having my mid morning omelette reading this. I had a pavlovian response and was compelled to yell to my wife:
"Where are my effen anchovies?"

Her husband should tell her to keep her shoes in the shed too. I mean walking around all day in them on our filthy streets, dirty toilets etc, they are just as unhygienic

I clearly need to spend more time on Mumsnet. Its pure comedy gold

He's a nobber. I think if my husband told his friends that he didn't like the smell of my fanny I'd shove prawns up his nose and staple it shut.

You go! Girlfriend!!! 😆

DP = Dear partner, when the couple are living in sin.

Mumsnet is wonderful. There's a great mixture of sensible advice & comedy, plus some very serious stuff on the Relationships area which makes me realise how lucky I've been (And how lucky Mrs M is!)

DP? Darling... what?

Darling Partner

(gender neutral, together but not necessarily married)

Or were you thinking of some other definition of DP? 😆

... or consider washing?

What a weird thread. It's one of the most amazing smells in the world, unless you've got personal hygiene issues. If someone told me I had bad breath, I wouldn't accuse them of being sexist, I'd go and brush my bloody teeth. That said, saying it across a dining table with a group of friends isn't perhaps the most tactful way of broaching the subject.

Ho hum.

Singletrack is OK. It can become misogynistic at times but is generally much less macho than most forums I've read. There are a number of women contributors who are respected and I've never seen any real abuse on the site.

We are in the clear so long as we pretend to listen to the ladies in here 😉

TBH, WGAF. IMHO the OP should WTFU, her OH's HT XC MTB probably needs new QR skewers and its BB refacing, perhaps a new FR hub. Perhaps if he was to n+1 a SS 29er it'd need less maintenance.

If anyone happens to be wondering, the female equivalent of misogynistic is "misandristic".

Just, y'know, out of interest and that 😉

You are bad, bad men. Good work.

I think I'm going to decline though. I don't really want to interrupt the flow of a thread discussing a lady who gets hot and sweaty and then goes out in her undergarments.

My husband's best bike lives in the house. it is an expensive machine and lovingly cared for. In the winter he does bike repairs in the house (floor covered with old curtains etc so no mess). Most of the bikes live in the shed but sheds and garages are damper than houses. if the bikes have been out in the rain they come in the house to dry off first.
You have to look after nice bikes if you want them to last.

OK, who is pretending to be a reasonable woman on Mumsnet as a troll?

he does manage to do a lot of tinkering which mostly seems to consist of taking parts off of one and putting them on another, realising it doesn't fit properly and then putting them back.

Strangely perceptive.

Before Flowerpower moved in my bikes spent a fair amount of time in the house. However she increased the number of bikes in the household by 200% and subsequently built me 3 new sheds in which to house the whole lot and perform maintenance (part fo the agreement was that I do all of this for her too!) Very Reasonable behavoir I think.
(thanks babe, btw, when you get round to reading this...)

(1k bike... they'd have kittens if they saw what some people here spend on bikes...)

Yeah, she can probably add 150% to get the actual value of the bike.

Given the tinkering he apparently does, you can probably add another £1k on new parts.

So by my calculations the value of DH's bike is in reality £3,500.
